The founding history of the association

On November 23, 1969, 15 enthusiastic motocross friends met in the Bovin restaurant (today's Arnoldusklause) in Arnoldsweiler and founded the MSC Arnoldsweiler. The first chairman was Wilhelm Memmersheim, the uncle of today's honorary chairman Helmut Memmersheim. After 5 years in office, Willi Viernich, Fritz Werner, Josef Schallenberg and Kasper Lemm took over the fortunes of the association. In 1985, Helmut Memmersheim was elected the first chairman, who still holds this honorary post today. In 1970 the association became a member of the DAMCV. This membership also lasts to this day. The company's own spacious race track was located in a gravel pit in Ellen, right on the A4. Many exciting races were held here until 1978. Unfortunately, the leased site had to be given up at the end of 1978. Due to the good contacts to Rheinbraun, the MSC Arnoldweiler was repeatedly provided with a day site up to 1995, on which a racing event could be held. In 2009 the club will be able to look back on its 40th racing event. It was only in 1996 that MSC Arnoldsweiler was given permanent training and club premises on the assembly forecourt of the Hambach opencast mine, which had been leased from Rheinbraun. This track no longer had to be dismantled after each event. The MSC Arnoldsweiler had found a new home in the municipality of Niederzier. This track and the site could be used for 10 years. In 2006 there was another move because the area was to be used by the opencast mine for burial. Thanks to RWE Power, which had made a new area available opposite the route at that time, the very complex approval process for the new route was tackled with the help of the municipality of Niederzier. In 2006, a makeshift track was laid out, but the racing event could only be held with an exceptional permit. In the spring of 2007 the time had come, all the permits were in place and the new lift was inaugurated with a successful charity event in favor of the DKMS. First and foremost, the MSC Arnoldsweiler would like to thank RWE Power, the municipality of Niederzier, the architect Toni Luysberg and the perseverance and diligence of its members for the creation of the new race and training track. We wish everyone every success in Moto Cross Sport and look forward to every new member and every guest who visits our track.
